Baby Chloe was born too soon, at 25+2 weeks gestation, weighing just 805g (1lb 12). She lived all of her 82 days in Neonatal Intensive Care, fighting against the numerous challenges brought on by her extreme prematurity. The grit and determination she showed against these astounded all of us. She is an inspiration and true example of the innate resilience of a human being - no matter how tiny.
We - John, Lorna, Kate, Alex, Jo, Oli, Lyn, Vasi and Ali - are in training to cycle 100 miles around (and up!) the Surrey Hills. It has been a long time since any of us were fit enough for this, but our commitment is nothing compared to the determination shown by tiny baby Chloe during her short, but heroic fight to live.

The journey of an extremely premature baby is terrifying, long and very tough, with the most precious of moments scattered within. The charity we are supporting, Bliss, work tirelessly to help and empower parents to take active roles in their baby's care, to educate and support healthcare professionals to use best practices in this 'family centered care'. Bliss also campaign to influence policy, procedures, and they enable life-changing research.
Chloe was sadly not for our world. But in her 82 precious days she taught us a great deal about life and we were able to ensure she knew she was deeply loved. We hope that our team effort for this ride will honour Chloe's legacy and help Bliss fund their incredibly important programs to ensure that all the little babies born too soon, or too sick in the UK have the very best chance of survival, and quality of life.
Thankyou for anything you can spare to help us in this endeavour!
